American brand Marquisfounded in 2000, by the standards of the yachting industry, is just indecently young. Her tender age, however, did not prevent her models, shortly after the opening, from literally turning the American market of expensive motor yachts ranging in size from 52 to 69 feet, and then, with a youthful fervour, breaking into what seemed to be a divided Europe. And the Old World, where the fastest jumpers are not usually welcome, has not resisted the charm of young Yankees. In the ten years of their existence, Marquis yachts have, according to the manufacturer himself, received more awards for construction quality and design than any other brand in this category.

Among other factors, the key to this success was the collaboration with a renowned yacht design bureau. Nuvolari & Lenard. Talented Italians from Venice have been responsible for the design and style of all the boats of the brand since its inception.

One of the latest achievements of Marquis is the award «for the best interior of an Open class yacht up to 24 m»long, received at the Cannes Yacht Festival. Guilty of the celebration is a sports yacht. Marquis 500 Sport Coupe. It's a basic model in the company's 50-foot lineup, which still has a more open "sister" - 500 Sport Bridge with an overhead control post.

The decision to produce both types in the same size is very sensible, as there are equally many fans of both open and closed boats in all markets around the world. It is noteworthy that a single hull for both boats at once was designed to be wide and stable - for the more roller-skinned flybridge version, in which the upper bridge adds 6 tons of extra weight well above the centre of gravity.

Designers from Nuvolari & Lenard have given both versions an ultra-modern European design with many whimsical curves and a very complex but harmonious glazing pattern on the sides. On the flybridge version, the upper bridge is dashingly moved to the stern and is set in Italian low, so the hull length to height ratio is optimal and the boat does not look like a barrow. The flybridge itself is also available in two configurations to choose from: with the predominance of either lying seats on the sunbathing area or seats around the table. There is an impression that the "table" version in Russia will be more popular.

On the main deck, transparent tricuspid doors made of tempered glass separate the main saloon from the aft spandeck with bathing platform. The platform is large enough to hold an inflatable tender or a large jet ski - not all 50-foot boats allow this. If the platform is not occupied, the Marquis 500 has an electric drive as standard, which moves the aft sofa half a metre closer to the transom, making even more room for passengers.

The main saloon of the boat is made in one level, so if the glass doors of the saloon are fixed in the open position, you get a huge open space from the stern to the control station - an ideal place for rest and communication with a large company. Guests will appreciate the large horseshoe sofa with a tricky folding table on the port side, strategically located opposite the large bar, all the temptations of which can be seen through the glass doors. The well-equipped galley on Marquis 500 is located just behind the bar, in the main salon and not downstairs - after cooking there is no need to air the rooms for long.

On the lower deck there are living quarters - the owner's cabin in the bow and two guests on board. The Owner's stateroom, as usual, has its own bathroom with shower and designer sanitaryware. Another bathroom, not inferior in size and finish to the owner's cabin, is at the disposal of the inhabitants of the guest cabins.

The interior, which has won the Cannes Yacht Festival award, is very expensive and exquisitely finished by Marquis masters. Unlike many famous brands, Marquis practically does not use subcontractors' services when decorating its yachts. Upholstered furniture, cabinets, interior fittings and wooden panels made of cherry or striped Zebrano wood are all made at the shipyard. The same is true for most of the common things and equipment on deck. As with an expensive yacht, the choice of finishes and layouts is huge - the manufacturer claims that two identical "awnings" have not yet been built.

The engine compartment of the Marquis 500 is occupied by three Volvo engines with an output of 370 or (optionally) 435 hp. With Volvo IPS speakers, the yacht accelerates to a maximum of 37 knots and in tight marinas can be easily operated with the help of a joystick.
