Company history

Magnum Marine Shipyard has 50 years of successful and very rich history. The company was founded by the famous entrepreneur and boat racer Don Aronov. However, he can be considered the founder of a whole plethora of American speedboat brands such as Formula, Donzi and Cigarette. The shipyard was named after the 27-foot champion Aronov, «Magnum Maltese». A small factory in Florida was built to produce these boats. But a couple of years later, in 1968, the company was sold to Apeco. Apeco reduced its range from four to two of the most popular models, while developing different layouts. Meanwhile, the company attracted the attention of another charismatic figure - Marquis Filippo Teodoli, who saw great prospects for the brand, and achieved the right to become the exclusive dealer of Magnum Marine in Europe. And in 1976, the company came under his complete control. Theodoli significantly changed the concept of Magnum boats. According to his vision, a racing boat was to become a luxury, comfortable yet economical yacht that could be driven by the owner himself. The Magnum has diesel engines, semi-submersible propellers, and world-renowned craftsmen have been involved in the design work. A new type of yacht was born - «luxury»open sports yachts, which were a huge success, especially in the Mediterranean Sea. After the death of Theodoli in 1990, his wife Catherine continued the work and was very successful, becoming the first and so far the only woman to lead the shipyard. Meanwhile, the success of the company was closely monitored by the one who by definition needed the fastest and most reliable boats - the navy. The patrol boats ordered from Magnum not only showed excellent results, but also impressed with their durability. So, many Magnum boats, which in the 70's guarded the residence of President Nixon, are still in formation!

Production

The shipyard is located in the port town of Aventura (Florida). The boats are handmade using the latest composites and technology. The high speeds of the Magnum boats dictate a special attention to the choice of materials and coatings. Hulls and components are manufactured using epoxy and vinylester resins, carbon fiber and Kevlar.

Model range

The shipyard specializes in the production of open high-speed motor yachts and racing boats in the size range from 13 to 29 meters. Magnum yachts are unusual in terms of their proportions, with an American flair and an absolute dominating speed.

The hulls' distinctive contours also give them excellent seaworthiness, as if they were a knife cutting through waves. The manufacturer is not chasing after the vessel capacity, preferring speed, comfort and safety.
