Brand History

Company founder Adam Lay received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Coventry University in 1995. He studied industrial design and after graduating he chose to specialise in the yachting industry, initially working for John Munford. Adam Lay Studio has extensive experience in all aspects of design, from exterior design, spatial planning and technical systems integration to interior styling, carpentry development, textile and art selection.

Philosophy

Drawing projects by hand is a major part of Adam Lay's work. «I believe there is such a connection between brain and imagination, hand and pencil, which cannot be achieved through a computer. I like to see my thinking process on paper» ..." says the designer.

Specialty

Adam Lay Studio specialises in exterior and interior design for customised sailing and motor superyachts. The studio offers its clients a unique experience based on handmade design and exceptional personal interaction.

The company cooperates with Lurssen, Amels, Baltic Yachts, Sarp Yachts, Moonen, Fitzroy Yachts, Alloy Yachts and Yachting Developments.

The Adam Lay Studio portfolio includes new and reputable projects, many of which have received design awards. Some of the best known projects areHaidaBuilt in 1929 (she won the World Superyacht Award for Best Sailing Yacht Interior in 2019), Liara, Salperton IV (Best Sailing Yacht Interior 2010),Endeavour(Best Refitted Sailing Yacht 2013), La Passion (Interior Space Design Award 2015), Lady Kathryn V, Inukshuk (Interior Design Award 2014).

Team

The client deals directly with Adam Lay Studio&nbsp as head of the company. Adam's wife, Kelda Lay, is also involved with the firm. She has an education in psychology and neuropsychology and joined the studio after completing her further education as a design coordinator.
