Norwegian shipyard Windy Boats offers a cabin boat that looks like a racing car.
All boats built by Windy Boats Norwegian shipyard get «windy» names. The 31 Zonda is no exception. It has a Spanish name, just like zonda, the people of Argentina call the warm wind blowing in the Andes. The 31 Zonda is indeed more of a passionate Latin American character than the Nordic serenity of its creators - this can be read at first glance at the dynamic profile of a lowboat. But, as head of Windy Boats Knut Heiberg-Andersen admits, association with the sports car of the same name will be quite natural too.
except that no sports car can comfortably accommodate its owner overnight. Meanwhile, the lower deck of Zonda 31 has a cabin with a double bed, shower and a small galley. And no extra details on the outside: no hardtop or radar arch. The bet is made on maneuverability and speed: the boat can be powered by one or two Volvo engines with tilt-turn loudspeakers up to 440 hp at 24 degrees deadrise. The cockpit at the boat is naturally deep and safe, with seats protected by an awning on folding pillars that can be removed if necessary.
