The Comet 50SC is the first true racer-cruiser from Comar, designed for IRC or ORC racing. She is almost entirely made of carbon fibre (hence the SC index, i.e. Sport Carbon) and is very lightweight. The large weight of ballast allowed for a very high restoring torque, which allows for a long time to carry a full sailing area, which the Comet 50 is also equipped with in excess. As a result, the boat is very fast, well accelerated on gusts and sensitive to any steering deviation. The yacht proved itself well during regattas such as Giraglia.
There is also a more modest version 50S, in which carbon fiber is largely replaced by conventional glass fabric. It is more focused on those who are not ready to go on serious racing distances, but satisfied with club races and long-distance voyages - there is enough comfort on board, the boat is quite suitable for cruising.
