The Comet 85RS, with its length of over 25 meters, is close to the superyacht class. The boat is therefore finished and staffed at the highest level. But unlike many other semi-serry boats in the 80ft class, the Comet 85RS has been designed and built with an emphasis on high speed performance. In terms of energy efficiency, waterline length, restoring torque and a number of other parameters directly affecting the performance of a sailing boat, she is superior to almost all comparable yachts of other renowned manufacturers.
The designers have put a lot of effort into the reliability and durability of the yacht. There is a powerful foam-filled ramming compartment in the bow, which should prevent the consequences of collision with semi-infested objects at sea. The hull of the yacht is made with the use of vacuum technologies, epoxy resins with high baking temperature are used as binder, and carbon fiber and four-layer glass fabrics are used to reinforce hull and deck sections.
