The monotype class of Figaro Beneteau appeared in 1990, but nowadays the main skeleton of the association is the boats of the second generation of Figaro Beneteau 2, the appearance of which in 2003 introduced a new stream in the development of the class. Figaro Beneteau 2 was designed by naval architect Marc Lombard and is a synthesis of all the achievements in the development of this 10m class.
In fact, Figaro Beneteau 2 was the first real design for ocean racing. This class hosts top-level races, such as the annual La Solitaire du Figaro single race. The boats of this class are racing in other famous offshore areas such as Fastnet race, but
this yacht is versatile - it is suitable not only for singles, but also for small crews, it can be safely sailed on the open sea or raced in inshore. Lightweight and reliable, it is able to withstand all wind and wave conditions. Thanks to its two steering pens, the Figaro Beneteau 2 is stable on passing courses and on autopilot.
