The Swan 90 was born in 2007 and absorbed the company's 40 years of experience in yacht construction and design. The main technical problem at creation of a boat was maintenance of rigidity of its case owing to what it has very refined and thought over design. There are two hull variants: a purely charcoal (racing) version with reduced displacement, and a more traditional one made of a complex combination of ordinary glass fabric and aramid fibre with reinforcements made of unidirectional carbon fiber harnesses. Stringers with box construction are interestingly made: they have a double purpose. Inside they are electric cables or ducts from the heating and air conditioning system.
Despite her large size, her electric (or hydraulic) winches allow her to be operated by a small crew of three, although racing requires two dozen sailors to reach the full potential of this powerful cruiser.
The yacht is available with two upper deck layouts: smooth deck (FD - flush deck) or small deckhouse (S - saloon).
