The flagship in the range of cruise boats of the "point, eighty" series is Beneteau Antares 8.80, which in 2011 became a new word in the design of such boats. Today, many shipyards are producing such boats. Jeanneau, Flipper, Quicksilver and others began building family cruisers with lengths of 8.5 - 9 meters with two sleeping cabins and outboard engines. But the Antares 8.80 was the first!
The shipyard's 2013 restyling, expressed in the grey and beige roof of the superstructure, gave the appearance of the Antares 8.80 a little more light and refined. As a matter of fact, like the rest of the company's boats with the index "point, eighty". But the dynamic qualities of 8.80 are much better than the younger fellows. Under one 250-hp engine, the cruising speed is 23 knots, and the maximum speed exceeds 30 knots. This is not only due to the engine power, but also to Beneteau's patented AirStep system, first used on Antares models.
In addition to the 250 hp engine, the Antares 8.80 boasts a full-size master bed 2 x 1.5 meters wide at the bow of the boat and a guest bed 1.4 meters wide across the hull below the cabin. The sleeping berths are separated by a small sofa. Also on the lower deck is a spacious walk-in closet with washbasin, shower and wooden frame with an elegant porthole. There is enough wood for the saloon as well. In particular, the entire galley is covered with veneer.
