Switzerland's Ivan Boignon, who was sailing around the world in a beach catamaran, miraculously survived the crash. At the end of July, his 20-foot boat hit rocks near the beach in Matara, Indonesia, and crashed. The yachtsman fell off the boat and was able to make his own way to shore.

The failure didn't break the brave sailor, he plans to continue his journey. At the time of the crash Boignon had 10 thousand kilometers to cover.

His goal is to build a new boat, to complete his undertaking and to become the first person to circumnavigate the world on an open catamaran.

Ivan Bouagnon set off on a round-the-world journey with his partner Beto Pandiani last October. Then, for various reasons, Pandiani pulled out of the project. Bouagnon remained alone and took on all the burdens of the voyage. Earlier it was reported that his boat was damaged several times, and the yachtsman himself almost drowned in the Atlantic Ocean.
