The first regatta of the National Sailing League will be held from 18 to 20 September 2014, reports the press-service of the All-Russian Sailing Federation. The venue of the event is the yacht club «Konakovo River Club» (Tver region).
Participants of the regatta will be the teams representing yacht-clubs of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tolyatti, Saratov and Tver. Apart from that sportsmen from Byelorussia will compete for the NPL Cup.
The competition will be possible to follow on YouTube - the organizers intend to conduct daily broadcasts from the scene.
In the future, the Federation plans to hold 5 stages of the League in 2015. Races are to be held in St. Petersburg, Konakovo, Moscow, Minsk and Sochi. The strongest teams of yacht clubs in Russia and CIS will compete for the title of the winner in each of the stages. The best crew according to the results of all stages will receive the NPL Cup.
