The sailing catamaran Sunsail, sailing from Cape Town to Thailand, went missing in Australian waters.

The crew of the vessel has not been in contact for a month and a half, the relatives of the sailors said. According to them, their last communication session took place on January 18, when the yacht was two thousand miles away from the city of Perth. Since then there has been no information on the boat's whereabouts.

According to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, the boat may have been caught in the cyclone zone «Bansi», and therefore may have been forced to move away from it towards the south. All vessels around Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, India and Australia were alerted to watch the sea for the missing sailing vessel.

There were three people aboard the vessel: skipper Anthony Murray, 58, Reg Robertson, 59, and Jarid Payne, 20.
