Yachtsman and entrepreneur Alan Bond has died

On 5 June 2015, it was announced that Alan Bond, an Australian entrepreneur, adventurer and sailing history inductee into the «America's Cu»p Hall of Fame has passed away. Alan Bond died of post-operative complications at the age of 77.

Alan Bond is known to sailing enthusiasts for sponsoring Team Australia II 's participation in Кубке «America'»s Cup in 1983. It was a historic regatta. The Australians triumphed, snatching the trophy from the USA for the first time in the history of the Cup. Alan Bond fought for the Silver Vase for ten years - first time he was syndicated against the Americans in 1974. It was said of him that he did not know how to give up.
