The last, ninth, stage of the Volvo Ocean Race is coming to an end. The first boats have reached the finish line in Gothenburg .
The best time of 4 days, 9 hours and 53 seconds was shown by Team Avlimedica. Team Brunel came second. Third came yachtsmen from MAPFRE and fourth came from Dongfeng Race Team.
Other circumnavigators, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, Team Vestas Wind and Team SCA, are on their way to the finish line. The finishes of these teams can be viewed using the following link.
Although not all boats have finished yet, the current results allow us to name a winner of the whole regatta. It was the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing team with the vast majority of the points. «The crew has 24 points, while their closest pursuer», Team Brunel, has 29 points.
Recall that the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015 season started on November 11. The competitors circled the globe, making stops in the following cities: Alicante, Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Sanya, Auckland, Itajai, Newport, Lisbon, Lorient and Gothenburg.
