St. Petersburg to host international sea festival

On August 15-16 St. Petersburg will host a big sailing festival - the St. Petersburg International Festival of Sailing.

A real sailing fleet will appear on the waters of the Neva river: the schooner «Lady Li», the brig «Triumph», the schooner «Nadezhda», the schooner «Lukull», and the steam paddle-boat «Rusich» and the yacht «Fatum».

Among the popular SB 20 monotypes there will be match races.

For extreme lovers there will be a show of fly-boarders and jet-skiers, including acrobatic tricks, including flips on a jet-ski.

The shipyard «Poltava» Has prepared special contests and master classes for children who will be able not only to learn how to knit nautical knots and weave on the loom but also set sails and try their hand at yachting.

Changito Cubans, St. Petersburg musicians «Markscheider Kunst», Zhenya Lyubich, Shanty-sailor choir «Mir», Petr Nalich & band MKPN and other musicians and bands will perform at the festival.

» Among other things spectators of the festival will be able to enjoy a special photographic exhibition within the framework of the festival, get acquainted with marine trades and «become an accomplice in the boarding of a sailing ship by real pirates.

What is particularly pleasant is that admission to the festival is free. Opening hours are from 10am to 9.30pm. Venue: beach of Peter and Paul Fortress, Green Zone (entrance from Kronverksky Bridge).
