Last weekend another round of the pre-Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series was held in Gothenburg, Sweden. This time New Zealanders managed to beat their long-time rivals, Oracle Team USA, and take the first place according to the results of the races of the two days.

The conditions were anything but easy, with little wind, but the New Zealanders, led by skipper Glenn Ashby, performed best in such conditions.

It seems that defeat came as a surprise to American skipper Jimmy Spithill. He admitted that his team's technique was flawed in light winds and that the boys felt much more confident when going airborne. He promised to work on his mistakes for next time.

The British Land Rover BAR team, who won the first round of the series in their home waters of Portsmouth, could only manage a third place finish.

Team skipper and Olympic gold medallist Ben Eisley admits: «Despite the disappointment we experienced, we are delighted to be on the podium. We almost caught up with the American Oracle Team and "made" Artemis Racing. However, I am sure the Kiwis had a great second race and well deserved the win».

SoftBank Team Japan came in fourth, having fared well on day two. For Swedish team Artemis Racing had a good start into the home waters but despite their success in the first race the Swedes were the last to finish the race.

Next round of Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series will be held in Bermuda, October 16-18. It's a great chance for the teams to explore the main waters where they will compete for the silver vase in 2017.
