Engineer and yachtsman Jean-Marc Simiand is looking for partners and crew for a round-the-world trip on a fuel-free World Eco Sail catamaran.
For this purpose, he has chosen the 44-foot multihull Helia by Fountaine Pajot. The catamaran will be equipped with six Sunpower solar panels, two 10kW Piktronik Podmaster Pro electric motors and two Winston 48V lithium-ion batteries.

The boat will run solely on solar and wind power. It will be completely autonomous thanks to the use of lithium-ion batteries, the creator promises.

Simiand plans to sail around the world, including covering 40 miles of the Panama Canal on a single battery charge. He hopes to begin his voyage in September 2016. It is planned to last more than three years.
