Raffi Lopez and his family were cruising their yacht «Gotcha!» («Gotcha!») to a seafood restaurant in Oakland when their boat got stuck on the Oakland estuary breakwater. The owner says he didn't notice the breakwater as it disappeared underwater at high tide. He and his wife and three children were evacuated by the Coast Guard.

The boat was lifted the next day by crane and taken to a nearby dry dock. According to preliminary estimates, the boat is to be repaired at a total cost of $500,000, which will cost $40,000-70,000.

The owner hopes to take the boat out to sea again soon, but told reporters that he would stay away from the Auckland estuary in the future. We would also advise changing the boat's name.
