Feadship launches compact superyacht with record glazing

Feadship has launched Hull 692, a 34-metre boat with a record proportion of glazing as a proportion of the total hull area.

The yard specializes in superyachts ranging in size from 40m to 100m. The construction of the compact 34 meter is an exception to the rule.

The Feadship client had a full-sized yacht in mind, but wanted a superyacht that was shallower in size and had a shallow draft so that she could sail in shallow waters and dock in marinas that lack long berths.

Feadship calculated that the project would only be economically viable for the client if the three hulls of the compact superyacht were built following the same design template. Feadship found two clients who were keen to purchase such a yacht and the project went ahead. The Feadship yard got two more owners who later applied for the Feadship.

She boasts many of the same features as the larger yachts.

» She is equipped with central air conditioning and a «dry exhaust system with catalytic exhaust filters.

The interior has a ceiling height of an impressive 2.45 metres. The interior of the 692 was designed by Bannenberg & Rowell. The master stateroom is located on the main deck with four guest cabins for eight passengers on the lower deck. The crew staterooms can accommodate six guests. On board the 962, there is room for a 5.6m tender and a jet ski.

Two MTU 16V2000 M93 engines push the 34-meter Feadship to 19 knots.

The yard will soon launch the 691 and 693. Each of these yachts will have a different set of options, as well as a customized layout and interior design. The final two hulls of the compact superyacht are scheduled for release in 2017.
