Well-known yacht designer Ed Dubois has passed away

Ed Dubois, founder of Dubois Naval Architects, passed away suddenly at the age of 64.

His company designed a number of famous sailing superyachts such as Tiara, Timoneer, Janice of Wyoming, Silvertip, Kokomo and many others. Of the powerboats designed by Ed Dubois, the 46.4m Feadship's Kiss is a standout.

After the death of its founder Dubois Naval Architects will continue to work on current projects. Several of the company's projects are currently in the design phase and one 58-metre vessel is under construction. The Beast is a sailing superyacht from the Royal Huisman Shipyard.

Senior designer Peter Bolke has been appointed as managing director of Dubois Naval Architects.

«Ed has been in better health since his illness last year and has been working as normal. Unexpectedly, he was admitted to the hospital last week. He passed away on Thursday," the company said in an official statement. - Ed Dubois was a great talent and will be remembered as one of the world's greatest yacht designers. He is known not only for his love of all things boating, but also for his love of music, art, travel, and - most of all - his friends and family.
