Russia's Maria Kislukhina won silver at the World Championships in Laser 4.7, which ended August 7 in Kiel, Germany.

Emma Savelon of the Netherlands took the gold and Elisa Navoni of Italy took home the bronze. In total 126 yachtswomen from different countries of the world participated in the competition.

Maria Kislukhina noted difficult weather conditions that developed in Kiel during regatta days.

«Frequent rain in the morning followed by scorching sun in the afternoon and evening. One day the rain was so heavy that you couldn't see any of the shoreline, and worse still, the sign you were heading for. The wind conditions were also very challenging. The distance was set close to the shore, and wind direction was stable on the shore, that's why the wind came and went in gusts», - she said.

Maria Kislukhina is a pupil of the Vladivostok Yacht Club «7 feet». In 2014 she won the World Championship in Laser 4.7 class in the younger age group, and in 2015 she took 4th place at the European Youth Championship in this class. At last year's Junior World Championships in Medemblik she was tenth. However, the current World Championship winner Emma Savelon took 9th place last year.
