Italian shipyard Mondomarine has launched the 60-metre flagship Sarastar.

Sarastar is the largest yacht ever built by Mondomarine. Her interior and exterior design was created by the Italian designer Luca Dini. Sarastar will be seen live in late September at the Monaco Yacht Show.

An interesting feature on the exterior of Sarastar is the possibility to transform the yacht's forward deck which can be used as a covered garage for the tender or - when open - as a sun-bathing space, helipad or even a dance floor.

Sarastar features a gigantic interior volume of around 900 gross tons. She can accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms. Five of them are on the lower deck and the owner's suite is on the main deck.

To create Sarastar's interior, Dini worked with Silvia Margutti and Gabriele Tartaelli who used precious and unconventional materials for the decoration: white onyx, exotic marbles, crystals and semi-precious stones as well as silver and silk for the wall coverings.

A highlight of the interior is a glass sculpture by Italian artist Lorenzo Malfatti, which guards the entrance to the central staircase.

The sporty appearance of the semi-displacement aluminum Sarastar is matched by her running performance. Two MTU 16V 4000 M73L 3,860 hp engines will propel the 60-meter yacht to a top speed of 19.5 knots. The maximum range of 4,100 miles is achieved at 12 knots.
