Dutch yard Van der Valk has unveiled a new range of BeachClub medium-sized motor yachts. The BeachClub range starts from 18.6 metres.

Construction of the first hull in the series, the 18.6m BeachClub 600, will begin in December. The boat is scheduled to be launched in 2017.

A distinctive feature of the BeachClub range is the innovative positioning of the propulsion motor which has been moved under the swim platform, giving the boat more room to operate.

According to the yard this will redefine the way a medium sized yacht should be.

Cor D. Rover and Ginton Naval Architects were involved in the development of the BeachClub range. The primary objective was to optimize the layout of the interior spaces and exterior decks to provide the largest and most efficient amount of usable floor area.

This was achieved by eliminating the traditional engine room and transferring the engine to the swim platform area, where there is a 1.6-metre high recess. There the designers positioned the Volvo Penta IPS propulsion, freeing up a lot of space at the rear of the boat.

As a result the smallest boat in the series, the 18.6 meter BeachClub 600, has a full size swimming platform and an open area with sunbeds measuring 14 square meters. The 17 square metre cockpit houses an open steering station and the main salon with dining area and kitchen.

Another covered salon, boasting panoramic ocean views, is on the upper deck, as well as an enclosed control station.

A large 25 square meter outdoor seating area is located forward. It can be configured in many different ways to suit all of your needs.

The aluminium BeachClub 600, powered by two Volvo Penta IPS-950s, has a top speed of 24 knots.
