Heesen has launched Project Nova, the world's first yacht in a Fast Displacement hull with hybrid propulsion. The 50-metre aluminium boat underwent a christening ceremony at Heesen's production facility in Aussa and was named Home. She will be tested at sea in Rotterdam before being delivered to her owner in June. Home will have its world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.

She will be driven entirely silently by two DC-powered, water-cooled electric motors rated at 127 kW each.

The boat will reach a speed of 9 knots. With the MTU 12V 2000 M61 diesel engines, the 804hp Home will reach a maximum speed of 16 knots. At 12 knots, a 50 metre superyacht with a light displacement of 315 tons and a weight of almost 500 tons will consume 98 litres of fuel per hour (30% less than the average for yachts in this class). At 10 knots, the fuel consumption is 57.5 litres per hour. At 12 knots the yacht has a transatlantic range of 3750 nautical miles.

The unusual exterior design was developed by Omega Architects. The yacht features a shallow draft of 2.15 metres which allows her to operate in shallow waters of the Bahamas. She has a modern look with a vertical bow. «Her generous glazing, coupled with low bulwarks, provides plenty of natural light indoors, which in the words of Frank Laupman of Omega Architects,» is more like a beachfront villa.

The experienced Home owner chose Cristiano Gatto as interior designer.

Minimalism reigns throughout the Home, the abundance of white is diluted with contrasting dark red and burgundy elements. Luxurious materials and geometric patterns are used throughout.

The main deck has a saloon with dining area for 10 and the owners stateroom with dressing room and study. The broad central staircase leads from the main deck to the spacious aft platform. On the lower deck are five guest cabins and a fully equipped gymnasium. On the sandeck there is a huge wind bar and spa pool. On the aft upper deck there is a lounge with panoramic glazing and an al-fresco snack area.
