«Battleship» ready for the start of the RC44 Championship Tour in Sotogrande

Russian team managed to restore the racing car on the eve of RC44 Championship Tour series.

St Petersburg Yacht Club Bronenosec Sailing Team's RC44 boat, along with other RC44 Championship Tour competitors, were caught up in the violent storm that struck Sotogrande over the weekend.

According to team manager Yegor Ignatenko, the onshore team was busy repairing the damage around the clock.

«We managed to cope with the task, and the boat is ready for the start of the training race today, - says Ignatenko, - already yesterday we were on the water and checked the readiness of all elements».

Earlier it was reported that one of the Russian boats taking part in the C44 Championship Tour suffered so much damage that it will not be able to compete unless the team finds a boat to replace it immediately. The name of the team was not specified.

In addition to «Battleship», two other teams under the Russian flag - Team Nika and «Katyusha» are expected to participate in the regatta.

The first round of the new RC44 Championship Tour season will start in Sotogrande on 27th April. « Armadillo» will compete in the RC44 series in a renewed, almost entirely Russian line-up.
