On May 20, on the territory of Royal Yacht Club a festival was held dedicated to the opening of the sailing season in Moscow. The event was organised by the All-Russian Sailing Federation and the PROyachting project.

Regatta was organized for those who wished to try themselves in sailing.

Ten yachts entered the water. The winner, as strange as it may seem, was the youngest crew.

VPSU and PROyachting held a press conference, where the VPSU President Vladimir Silkin, head coach Natalya Ivanova and PROyachting founder Ekaterina Skudina summed up the results of the past season and shared their plans for the future.

«The culmination of the day was the launch of balloons in honour of the 350th anniversary of the Russian state shipbuilding industry and the 10th anniversary of the United Shipbuilding Corporation».

Together with the opening of the season Royal Yacht Club hosted the third stage of the National Sailing League top division.

27 teams fought for the title of the best team. The winner was determined on May 21: it was the leader of the standings of the Navigator Sailing Team Igor Rytov.

About a thousand people were the guests of the event; this was the first time a sailing event of such a scale was held in Moscow.
