Princess Yachts is announcing the first 'under 40ft' model in a decade, the Princess V39 sports cruiser. A delivery date is not yet known, but a price tag has already been announced, starting from 282,000 GBP for the basic configuration. The 39ft hardtop with a pair of cabins and one bathroom will be fitted as 'standard' with two 330hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels.
Notably, Fairline is set to show an updated 38-foot Targa with a hardtop at the upcoming Southampton Boat Show. Also, rumour has it that a similar 'baby' is preparing to be launched by Sunseeker in the near future. It seems that in moments of global belt-tightening, the grands have turned their backs on a market segment that they weren't interested in in the fatter years. The consumer, who now has the opportunity to choose a truly quality boat in these sizes, only benefits from this sudden crowding.
