So, we can start the countdown to the new voyage Fyodor Konyukhov. It is scheduled for December 12, adjusted for the vagaries of the weather.

This time, the famous traveler will cross the Pacific Ocean on a rowboat.

Not many people dared to do it, but Konyukhov will set out on an inconceivable route of almost 19 thousand kilometres! It is the longest distance between South America and Australia.

He will eat like an astronaut and even more calorie-dense. He plans to row for 11 hours a day to cross the Pacific in six months and arrive in Australia next May. In addition to 450 ration packs, the boat will carry a fishing rod, 50 mountaineering gas cylinders for the stove and an icon of St Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The nine-meter boat «Turgoyak», specially built for the trip, has already arrived from England to the starting point in Chile, the port of Valparaiso. And as usual, not without adventures. The container arrived in the port on November 23, but in connection with the strike of the Chilean customs officials, the boat could be removed only three days later, and then only by miracle and efforts of the shipping agent who managed to find it among the numerous other cargoes stuck in the port.

Now Fyodor Konyukhov began to train and test the equipment, and in two weeks he will hit the road.
