Three days to go until the second leg of the Monaco Winter Sailing Race in the Melges20 class. This regatta was invented and organised by our yachtsmen in order not to get rusty in the off-season. The first stage was successfully held in October and was a victory for the Nakhimov Racing team. Not only Russian teams raced then. Italy and Monaco were involved and the host yacht club was defended by the local prince, Pierre Casiraghi.
The second round will be held on December 13-15 in Monaco, and since then the Melges20 fleet has been expanded with new crews. The Saint Petersburg Yacht Club crew led by Vladimir Lubomirov and Italian Bombarda Racing that competes in Melges32 class will join the race. The newcomers will also have two Dutch teams.
