Red Bull intends to hold the Storm Chase championship among the most fearless windsurfers on the planet. The competition will stretch over the whole year and will consist of separate phases. The championship will be weather-driven with all competitions taking place during stormy weather.
The first round of the championship will last until March 22. The exact date is unknown, as everything will depend on the weather. All this time ten competitors will be on standby, ready to depart within 48 hours to the designated location. The second leg is due to start on July 22. Organisers have chosen seven possible locations in different countries: USA, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, France, Australia (Tasmania Island) and Japan.
