The wild dolphin Fanji is a local landmark in the Irish town of Dingle. Every day, since 1983, he swims to people and sees off ships. Remarkably, he has never been baited or trained, yet he has never left these waters.

According to the legend, when Fanzhi appeared in the bay, the body of a female dolphin was found washed ashore nearby. It is assumed that it was Fangi's female partner, which is the reason he stayed in the bay.

For more than two decades, the whole town has been living off Fangi: in addition to daily excursions to the dolphin's habitat, shops sell souvenirs with his image.

The excursions are insured and if the dolphin does not come, the money will be paid back. Fangi always comes.
