The queen's fate

The royal yacht Britannia touched the water for the first time on 16 April 1953. «A simple calculation would suggest that» is sixty this week. Britannia has 44 years of official service to the royal family under her belt. During that time she has been stomped on deck by, in addition to the British monarchs, important people from all over the world - from governor-generalsto US presidents. Britannia is now at rest in Edinburgh as a museum. Not too bad - she has a lot to remember.
