On August 28 the Great Sail Regatta started in Falmouth, UK, with more than 47 vessels taking part in it. Unfortunately, there was no Russian bark "Kruzenshtern" among these ships: it was excluded from participation after the incident with tugboat Diver Master, which sank after disconnection of cables from the sailboat at the exit from Danish Fano marina. More than 230,000 people attended the event over the 4 days while the big sailboats were in Falmouth Harbour. Sales at local shops and restaurants doubled. The county of Cornwall's economy is expected to generate more than £15 million thanks to Tall Ships Falmouth. The regatta ended on September 9 with a spectacular parade of sails on the Thames in Greenwich.
