It became known today that a group of marinist companies from the UAE "MAR" announced the acquisition of the German shipyard Blohm & Voss (B&V). This shipyard is famous for the construction of the largest motor yacht in the world - Eclipse, owned by Roman Abramovich.
The amount of the deal is kept confidential. In addition to the shipyard Blohm & Voss, the company from Abu Dhabi has also acquired a repair and service facility and the HdW Gaarden shipyard in Kiel. The parties also agreed to work together with the Germans to design and provide many services for megayachts.
It may be assumed that Blohm+Voss's next task will be to build even larger yachts than Eclipse in order to regain the leadership in size that previously belonged to the Arab Dubai yacht.
