About

The company's history

The famous Italian brand Mondomarine dates back to 1978. The shipyard, located in Savona, immediately entered the market for large customised boats.

The company's superyachts are very popular around the world, but in 2017 Mondomarine fell under the radar of law enforcement on suspicion of fraud. The shipyard was then declared bankrupt.

Today the company was bought by Palumbo Superyachts. The forthcoming transaction was known from the beginning of 2018 and only after almost 11 months it was possible to bring it to the end.

Palumbo Superyachts is one of the largest players in the Mediterranean and East Atlantic shipbuilding, service and repair market. In addition to Mondomarine, the company's portfolio includes 8 other shipyards located in Ancona, Naples and Messina in Italy, Malta, Marseille in France, Tenerife in Spain and Rijeka in Croatia.

In the almost 40-year history of the shipyard, more than 60 boats in the recognizable Italian style have been removed from the slipway.

Fleet

The shipyard's portfolio includes boats from 30 to 60 meters in length in steel and light aluminium alloys. Primarily the enterprise produced boats for long journeys capable to develop decent for superyachts of 17-25 knots speed. After the acquisition Palumbo Superyachts began to form a design department that would work on new projects.

One of the most recent works by Mondomarine that attracted the attention of the public was the 60-meter Sarastar, launched in 2017. The boat was the longest of the company's fleet and was presented at a boat show in Monaco.

Features .

The shipyard often invited renowned design studios to develop the ships, and this, together with the wealth of experience and innovative solutions, helped the shipyard to achieve universal recognition. The Mondomarine boats were often the focus of exhibitions and prizes from leading yacht publications. In 2016, the 42.3-meter Serenity received a statue of Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards.
