On board Codecasa 41s Flying Dagger

Shipyard Codecasa can boast of loyal customers who from time to time ask to build a new yacht, usually larger than the previous one: this is exactly what happened to the Flying Daggerthat we represent today.

The 41-meter "open" is a development of the 35s sports line, to which belongs the first yacht of the same owner. The author of the 41s is Andre Bachigalupothe creator of all the open models at the shipyard in Viareggio. The interiors have been entrusted to creative talents... Ivan Porphyry. And they turned out to be really «special» in terms of shape, style and colour: although white dominates in all rooms, unexpected iridescent bursts and lively notes create a charming, magical and surreal atmosphere.

Andre Bachigalupo gave the boat a strong character, but not «arrogant». The exterior lines, accentuated by the metallic grey leaded hull and the superstructure's gray-silver hue, are dynamic and immediately indicate high speed and good sports performance.

The silhouette, as fast and powerful as an athlete's body, is a solid and well-defined body with a pronounced bow lift, topped by a streamlined superstructure. The large cockpit features a saloon for conversations under a retractable awning and a dining area separated by a projection from the upper deck. At the bow, there is a sunbathing area and a Jacuzzi.

The layout is defined by two and a half decks, except for the already mentioned sundeck/flybridge. The kitchen and crew area with four cabins and the kitchenette with sofa corner are on an additional level. The interiors are dominated by white tones - the sum and synthesis of all rainbow colours. The characteristic style of the Porphyry is recognized by the particular «purity» and rationality of the space, structured and functional. The central part of the salon is flooded with light pouring from the vaulted lanterns. Furniture in this large and bright open space is an object of art in itself: Happy sofas by Sawaya & Moroni, Amoenus chair by Maxalto, table with cracklers by Ivana Porfiri herself, table Digitable by B&B Italia.

To reach the lower deck, the guests' night area needs to be climbed down the stairs to starboard, at the level of the middle saloon. On this deck there are four staterooms along the axis for the owner and his guests: the owner's cabin occupying half of the boat, one VIP cabin and two double cabins. The full-beam master stateroom is adjoined to the wall.

The natural and artificial lighting is described separately. on the lower deck. Vertically stretched portholes covered with curtains are cut into the shiny slopes, giving an extra sense of strength to the hull.

The Codecasa 41s is a planing yacht entirely made of aluminium 5083 H111/321. The use of this lightweight and durable material allows for a displacement of approximately 175 tons. With a length of 41 meters and a width of 8 meters, the maximum draft is 1.40 meters. At full load, the vessel reaches a speed of 34 knots, and at 30 knots the autonomous navigation is 450 miles. «The flying dagger» flies perfectly at full speed and, faithful to its name, cuts through the waves confidently and easily.
