Category Description
Classic gentlemen's boats, or runabouts, have their roots in the first half of the 20th century, when wealthy American and British gentlemen transplanted from their «convertibles», which bore the same name, by the way, into elegant wooden boats to go to the country estate or to walk on city canals.
Since then, boats have long been accessible to the public, but the runabouts have managed to survive and survive as a class. They seldom exceed 10m in length and avoid modern technical solutions: mahogany under a dozen layers of lacquer, exclusive analogue devices, a retro steering wheel signed by a renowned designer and comfortable, slightly old-fashioned sofas - this is the modern image of the runabouts.
Designed for connoisseurs of style and antiquity, these boats leave auctions for fabulous money, and their owners form elite indoor clubs. Classic runabouts are not every day boats, although their speed and sailing characteristics are worthy of respect. Resting in superyacht garages or private golf clubs' berths, they are used with a sense, with a sense of purpose, with an arrangement.
