Category Description

Hovercrafts can be called all-terrain vehicles on water. Unlike conventional boats, where the hull is submerged in water and the movement is set with screws, water cannon or sail, hovercrafts pump compressed air under the bottom and slide on the surface. This principle allows the boat to reach the bare shore and even move freely on land (amphibious hovercrafts). The advantages are also worth adding to the good speed performance.

The boats of this type also have disadvantages: firstly, too much noise from the marching screws, secondly, inevitable abrasion and damage to the soft membrane that comes into contact with the surface, and thirdly, high cost due to the technically complex design. Hovercraft are therefore more likely to be in service with the security forces and rescue services, although the private market is sometimes interested.
