Guido de Groot started his career in the automotive design industry, where he worked for over six years after graduating from the famous Passadena Art Center College of Design. In 1986, inspired by the beauty of a 45 metre superyacht.Highlanderbuilt on Feadship, de Groot started painting yachts in parallel with cars and eventually the yacht theme took him completely by storm. In 1997 he established his own studio in Holland.
The philosophy of Guido de Groot Design is to create high-quality design, the main essence of which is in purity and harmony.
«We are very versatile in our projects and are not afraid of new approaches to solving problems. The diversity of our projects, from traditional to futuristic, underlines the flexibility of our company»," says the designer.
The company always strives to take environmental issues into account whenever possible and always works with particular interest on projects in the Green category.
The studio develops exterior and interior design for yachts of all sizes and types, including serial, custom and semi custom yachts. The firm also takes orders for design development for passenger boats.
Cooperation with shipyards
The company has a long association with Mulder Shipyard and has also done projects with Perini Navi, Horizon, Feadship, AB Yachts, Feadship, Overmarine, Bloemsma & Bal, Vanquish, Jongert, Van Der Valk, Cerri Cantieri Navali, Fincantieri, Timmerman Yachts.
In addition to collaborating with Mulder, with whom Guido de Groot Design has built more than 30 yachts, the company has been involved in other significant projects, including Gitana by Perini Navi and Espresso by Horizon. The company created the exterior design for Kathleen Anne and Katrion by Feadship and the high-speed AB116 by AB Yachts.
De Groot has an international team, including young designers and marketing specialists.
