Designer description Diana Yacht Design B.V.

The history of the brand

Diana Yacht Design was founded in 1971 in the Netherlands by Italian and Dutch engineers. The company has made a name for itself by designing boats in classic style. Over time, the designers shifted to larger projects and became firmly entrenched in the superyacht segment.

Philosophy

According to the studio, Diana boats offer an ideal balance between aesthetics and technology, between comfort and efficiency. All Diana yachts are of high quality and have stood the test of time.

Specialty

The main direction of Diana Yacht is engineering solutions and enclosure design. The company also takes on the design of boats, drawing up projects for the refit. The studio renders services of full support of projects from sketches to consultations at construction and transfer of a boat to the customer.

Cooperation with shipyards

In its almost 50-year history, the company has participated in more than 70 projects that have been implemented at 22 shipyards around the world. The most fruitful cooperation has been with Hakvoort, Amels, Tansu Yachts and Moonen.

Landmark projects

Attessa IV (then still Evergreen) was built in 1999 for the Taiwanese businessman Chang Yung-fa. The studio in this project was engaged in marine architecture and created a building capable of developing to 22.5 knots. Later the yacht was noticed by the American industrial magnate Dennis Washington, who liked the hull. With the participation of the designers of the studio the boat was significantly rebuilt, and in 2011 was awarded the World Superyacht Awards for the best refit.

Team

Today the studio is headed by the chief naval architect Hans-Maarten Bais. The permanent staff includes 15 other designers, engineers and designers. The company also engages external specialists to implement the projects.
