In 2017, Discovery Yachts became the new owner of the brand and delighted long distance sailing enthusiasts with the return to the market of Southerly yachts. The Southerly 480 was presented in Düsseldorf in 2018.

Interior and exterior

The Southerly 480 is an upgrade of the Southerly 47 (2012) designed by Stephen Jones, designer of the yard. Under the wing of the Discovery, the Southerly 480 received modern circular glazing for the Deck Salon, two rudder pens, high boards, a frame in the cockpit for a giacco and a bathing platform (optional).

The internal layout has not changed, but the transfer of production has improved the quality of finishing materials (especially wood).

Amenities on board

Space in design of the Southerly 480 takes an important place. This boat is for two families, the placement of which is autonomous and comfortable in the home. The forward and aft cabins are impressive in size, with a maximum width of 4.46m. The branded deck salon allows to carry the watch even being inside.
