The port of Nice was in turmoil this morning when fire broke out on the bridge deck of the 47m yacht 360°(ISA2003) burst into flames. The yacht was moored on the east side of the port.
The fire is extinguished by now, but according to witnesses the fire raged for an hour in the captain's cabin and on the upper deck of the yacht, so the scope of the damage must have been impressive. Dozens of fire-fighters fought the blaze. It is said that the mayor of Nice came to the fire.
The exact cause of the fire is still unknown. The working version is an electrical short circuit.
