A $3.5 million yacht burns down in Fort Lauderdale

An overnight fire in the city of Fort Lauderdale destroyed a $3.5 million yacht and forced the passengers of an even more posh vessel to evacuate in a hurry.

According to fire officials, the 80-foot yacht, which fortunately had no one aboard, caught fire at Bahia Mar Marina on Wednesday, April 22.

» But firefighters on the scene had to not only extinguish the boat, but also help two people out of a nearby 120-foot boat, which «was caught in the fire. One of the firefighters suffered smoke poisoning and was sent to the hospital. No one else was injured.

Causes of the fire are still being investigated. An investigation is underway.
