«Krusenstern» allowed to return to Russia

The sailing ship «Kruzenshtern» rammed two ships of the Icelandic Coast Guard. The incident occurred on 11 June 2015.

According to press reports, «when the barque was leaving the port of Reykjavik's Eysturhebn harbor when the tugs were turning, it collided with the bowsprit on the Icelandic Coast Guard ships moored at the quay».

The collision did not result in any loss of life. The sailing vessel sustained minor damage. «» The ships it struck were hit harder: they will need repairs. The Icelandic navy assessed the damage from the collision at 100 million ISK (about 42 million rubles).

An investigation into the incident is currently underway. The country's authorities allowed «Krusenstern» to return to Russia. Now he is on his way to Murmansk.
