Rumors began to circulate in the market about the closure of Palmer Johnson shipyard, which it hastened to deny. Nevertheless, the company does expect big changes. The American shipyard is closing down production in its home country and relocating all facilities to the Netherlands.

The second hull of the shipyard's PJ48 sports line is currently in Norway and will also move to the Netherlands, where it will be completed. The third PJ48 hull will follow in April 2016 and with it the blanks of the 42m yacht will be delivered to its new home. The boat is scheduled to be delivered to the customer in 2017.

The third PJ170 hull is currently under construction at the American yard in Sturgeon Bay - once the yard has completed it, the boathouse will finally close. When that happens some of the employees will also be relocated to the new location to continue building «Palmer Johnson».

Palmer Johnson is a native American shipyard that began back in 1918. The company, which began with wooden boats and sailboats, in 2012 introduced to the world a revolutionary line of SuperSport carbon superyachts with an aggressive, memorable design.
