The feature of Yachting_rus Cup regatta is on the one hand amateur regatta open to all comers and on the other hand it is a sailing event with a high sport level of organization.

«We have been holding our regatta on Lake Garda since 2014. This place is known for the fact that the best yachtsmen of the world train here. And absolutely not by chance: besides the incredible beauty that surrounds you all day, there are great weather conditions and the wind blows, most of the time, as scheduled: in the morning the north "Peeler" 15-25 knots, in the evening the south "Ora" 10-20 knots. It is ideal for intensive training on the water and racing all day long, - comments Pyotr Lezhnin, Yachting_rus community founder and regatta organizer. - And of course, Lake Garda is a great place to relax in the company of like-minded people and spend time together in nature».

This spring Yachting_rus Cup will be held for the 14th time and will gather a record number of participants not only from a dozen of Russian cities but also from Italy, Latvia, Germany, Estonia and Sweden.

The format of Yachting_rus Cup is grand-prix racing in mono-race classes with direct judging on water. Competitions will be held on J/80, CB66 and Dolphin 81 racing yachts. Each racing day is divided into several short races of 4-6 miles (2-3 loops) and 15-25 mile offshore races through the beauty of the lake.

The regatta is co-hosted by the European Sailing League. Fraglia Vela Riva Yacht Club, where the regatta will be held, hosts events such as: European Championships and World Championships in Melges 32, 24, 20 and J/70 classes. The yacht club is also organizer of the largest regatta in the mono-class «Optimist», which entered into the Guinness Book of Records for the maximum number of participants (1055 yachts).
