Following the successful signing of an agreement with Cantieri San Marco, based in La Spezia, the Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has begun to delocalise its production facilities. The superyacht division, previously located in Viareggio, is moving completely to the new site in La Spezia.

The first to move were the two hulls of the 52STEEL under construction.

Both 52-metre superyachts were delivered from Viareggio to La Spezia by barge under cover of night. By the end of April, the fourth and fifth hull of the 460EXP, also under construction, will be moving to La Spezia.

The new production site in La Spezia has a bigger surface, direct access to the sea and is equipped for the construction of metal yachts from 40 to 80 metres in length.

In this way Sanlorenzo will be able to organically develop its Superyacht division, a segment that has hardly been touched by the economic crisis and which currently accounts for a considerable part of the company's turnover.

In addition, a large yacht refit facility is planned for La Spezia.
