The entry of the Ferrari car family into the Ferretti Group, of which the iconic Riva brand is a part, is paying off. Car maker Fiat has teamed up with yacht brand Riva to create the special Fiat 500 series.

The new model, which the manufacturers ironically call «the world's smallest yacht», combines the refined style of Riva with the size of a tiny city car.

The Fiat 500 Riva gets the original body colour «Sera Blue», familiar to fans of the Aquariva Super model. The body is crossed by a double stripe in aquamarine colour. On some Riva models this double line also marks the waterline.

Mahogany, maple and chrome trim is used throughout the Riva yachts, as is the case on the Fiat 500 Special Edition. Mahogany with maple inlays are used on the dashboard, steering wheel and gearbox, while chrome-plated door mirrors and handles are also used.

Stylish appearance is complemented by specially developed for this version 16-inch light-alloy 20-spoke wheels. And of course, the car abounds with Riva logos: on the dashboard's torpedo, on leather upholstery of seats color «ivory», on the body sides and behind.

A sign near the parking brake informs you that you are sitting behind the wheel «tender to the Riva yacht». Or in a car made «with love for Riva». Depends on how you translate the word tender.

The Fiat 500 Riva is available in hatchback and convertible versions. The model comes with the standard Fiat 500 engine set. You can choose from a 1.2-liter 69-horsepower engine, a 0.9-liter TwinAir (85 or 105 hp) or a 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel (95 hp)
