The second round of the World Cup Series has started in Yeer. More than 500 athletes from 52 countries take part in one of the largest regattas in Olympic classes.

In women RS:X class Russia is represented by Stefania Elfutina. The Russian did not have a good start for herself, coming 22nd and 21st in the first two races, but finished the third race in a good seventh place. The fourth race is 23rd place, this result will not be counted as the worst result. The result after four races is 21st place. Stephanie is competing with 37 other racers, first place after the first two days is Israeli Noga Geller who managed to win the first two races.

«It was 10-12 knots, a good time to glide downwind. It was almost like my home, so these are my favorite conditions»," said the athlete and revealed the secret of her success.

However, in the third race she was not so lucky and came only 22nd.

«I got off to a bad start, was on the wrong side and couldn't catch up later»," Geller explained.

According to the rules, women can eliminate the worst result, which is what the Israeli woman did, thus remaining at the top of the table.

Among the men, competing in RS:X class, there are two Russians - Evgeniy Aivazyan in 17th place and Andrey Zagainov in 40th. Leader of the standings, Swiss Mateo Sanz Lanz, just like Noga Geller, won his first two races, and just like her sees the key to victory in a successful start.

«Once you go into a clean wind, you are free to choose the side you want," he explained. - It makes a huge difference what number you go to the finish».

In the «Laser class» it was Cypriot Pavlos Kontides who took the lead on the first two days. He managed to get a good start position and good speed, winning the first two races. Russia's Maxim Nikolayev took 53rd place, Sergey Komissarov came in last 60th.

In the «Laser Radial class» Evi Van Acker of Belgium lost to Tuula TENKANEN of Finland after coming in eighth in the fourth race. The leaders of the list are very tight, so things can still change many times. Ekaterina Zyuzina didn't start in one of the races and now sits 42nd at the end of the standings.
After frustrating fourth race Switzerland's Linda Fahrni and Maja Siegenthaler conceded the lead in women 470 to Dutchwomen Afrodite Z EGERS and Anneloes van Veen. Alisa Kirilyuk and Angelika Chernyakhovskaya are on the 14th place after finishing seventh in the fourth race.

Denis Gribanov and Pavel Sozykin are best of all Russians in Jerseys regatta.

The duo from Krasnodar is in fifth place after four races in 470 class. They have two fourths. The men's 470 class fleet is headed by the Greek duo of Panagiotis Mantis and Pavlos Kagialis, bronze medallists from Rio Olympics. You can follow the results of the regatta here.
