Owner's representative Peter Insull revealed to Superyacht Times details of Feadship's big new project.

The 96.55m (317ft) Vertigo yacht, which was designed by Redman Whiteley Dixon, is currently under construction at Feadship docks in McCoom. The same studio, along with the owner's personal designer By Chahan Minassian (Chahan Minassian), also designed the interiors. The owner, who is an experienced yachtsman, was also closely involved in the design. The yacht will be completed in the first quarter of 2017.

The curved deck lines of hull number 1006, as Vertigo is known to the Feadship yard, reflect the Redman Whiteley Dixon signature. Her elongated bow will accommodate a helipad and hangar for a Bell 429 helicopter. The undulating hull line will lead the observer from the bow to the stern of the main deck where an impressive sized 9m x 4m pool is located.

Its floor is made of tempered and laminated glass panels and is the ceiling of the beach club area on the deck below.

A unique feature of the pool is the infinity edge ledge descending towards the transom. The pool is separated from the main salon by a waterfall.

The beach club also serves as the main lobby for guests coming on board. It is equipped with side panels that can be lowered down and replaced with glass to create a sense of continuity with the surroundings. There is also a spa with massage and steam rooms.

The interior of Vertigo can accommodate 18 guests and 34 crew members. The Owner has a private deck above the bridge deck. On the main deck there are four guest cabins and two VIP suites, all with ensuite bathrooms and dressing rooms. The two crew cabins, which can be converted to guests cabins if required, are situated on the bridge deck. Together they provide a total living area of 900 square meters.

The steel-hulled vessel with aluminium superstructure will be powered by twin MTU 16V 4000 M63L engines to give her a top speed of 17 knots. At a cruising speed of 12 knots the range of the Vertigo will be 5,000 nautical miles. The yacht will be fitted with an azimuth thruster and a Navis Dynamic Positioning System.

Feadship has collaborated with Tenderworks to build two tenders in the same style as the yacht, one open, one closed. These will be complemented by three more tenders and a set of Yamaha WaveRunner hydrojets.
